Good luck to all the chapters! In 2010 we rolled out a survey called the Chapter Achievement Program to demonstrate beneficial programs and activities, encourage our BHS chapters to participate, and allow them to be rewarded for great participation. 333 Chapters participated and the scores are now tallied. The top 10 choruses in the Society are listed to the right. One very encouraging result is that 328 (98.5%) of the chapters that responded reached out and did something for their community. Many of our chapter choruses and quartets never make the International competition, and many do not wish to. But many chapters wish they could show off the good things they do achieve – things that help their communities or their chapters or society as a whole. For 333 chapters, the competitive spirit inspired them to participate in 2010. Using this program, even chapters who don't regularly compete in our singing competitions can compete against the larger chapters and track their improvement from year to year. What's in it for youYou may ask, "What's it going to do for my chapter?" Well, it will simply show you what things the Society thinks are important and how well you are doing compared to other chapters in accomplishing those things. It is also a great tool for Society, District and Chapter leadership to use to determine where we are as a Society and perhaps what we need to be focusing on. |
