2012 Honors Chorus Application

Under the direction of Joe Cerutti, director of the perennial medalist Alexandria Harmonizers chorus, the Honors Chorus will appear as a featured ensemble on the Saturday Night Show. Application for this chorus will be by audition and is open to Society members only. The following are the procedures for admission to the Honors Chorus of Harmony University 2012.

  1. You must be a Society member and be a registered/paid student for Harmony University.
  2. Send an e-mail to James Estes ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) to request the audition materials (one partial copy of I'm Gonna Live Till I Die and a part-dominant mp3). The audition will begin at measure 17, and stop after the words "upside down" ("I'm gonna take this town and turn it upside down"). Sing your part solo into the highest quality, accessible recording device you have. You may use a pitch pipe or piano to help you get started in the right key, but once you begin singing do not play piano notes, have the learning track playing in the background (or headphones), etc. We want to hear your voice, and your voice alone.
  3. You will be judged on accuracy of notes/rhythm, and overall vocal quality.
  4. You may audition for more than one voice part.
  5. Return your audition to James Estes ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) no later than June 1, 2012. MP3 format is preferred, but auditions will also be accepted in CD format.
  6. We will notify each person who auditioned of the results on or before June 8, 2012.
  7. If you are accepted into the Honors Chorus, you will be sent the full compliment of music and learning CD.
