Men’s Honors Chorus

Men’s Honors Chorus

We welcome all men of any age who are interested in having a great time singing with other men while learning a ton about rehearsal techniques and how our team can elevate your understanding of ensemble singing and performance.

The men’s honor chorus has no audition, and we welcome both HU men AND men in the greater Nashville area that would like to join us for the joy!  Rehearsals are Monday-Friday, 2 to 4 pm, and we will sing on the Saturday night show!

You are welcome to sign up for Honors Chorus if you are in chorus or quartet college (we get a lot of our people from these areas), or simply want to sing in an elite ensemble during the week. The honors chorus is no longer audition-based as it was in year’s past. Please register online through SCHED.

The 2018 Director of the Men’s Honors Chorus is Dr. Jay Butterfield. Jay has his Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance, Voice, Indiana University of PA,  Masters of Arts in Music Performance, Choral Conducting,  Indiana University of PA and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Penn State University. A proud Lancaster, PA resident, Jay’s history and involvement with music is one of the reasons he is a founding member of Parkside Harmony.  Along with a couple District quartet championships and serving as a BHS Certified Singing Judge – Jay brings over 30 years of choral directing and music education experience to our chorus. He is happily married to his wife, Anne and has two children – Lauren (a dentist) and Ben (a Blue Man).  And while he can be found scuba diving or sparring with a Taekwon-Do partner, his greatest joy comes from harmonizing!
