At the San Diego Film Festival on September 26, American Harmony, the Movie, took home the award for Best Documentary! The best part? The votes came almost entirely from regular festival attendees, as there were only approximately three barbershoppers in attendance!

| San Antonio Students Sing in First Barbershop Harmony Concert
Four-part barbershop harmony made its debut at Roosevelt High School on September 19th, as 250 high school and middle school students converged on the campus for an all-day festival sponsored by the Chordsmen Chorus and funded by the San Antonio Office of Cultural Affairs.
Mary Ann Wydra, Master Director of the Alamo Metro Chorus and her Music Team took the girls through their paces and Steve De Crow, tenor of Glory Days Quartet and Brent Dunavant, Director of the Marcsmen were clinicians for the boys.
They filled the auditorium with a wall of sound as each group performed four songs and joined forces to do a combined number that brought the crowd to their feet in a standing ovation! Also appearing on the show were the Alamo Metro Chorus and three of their quartets, Flash! Starburst and Prelude; the Marcsmen Chorus and Varsity, a collegiate quartet. Dwayne Cooper, SWD President of the BHS served as Master of Ceremonies. Special thanks to Jim Rountree who spearheaded the entire event and worked tirelessly for its success.

OT All-Member Survey COMING SOON!
In Spring of 2008, at the direction of the Society Board, the Operations Team began a cycle of semi-annual all-member surveys to solicit valuable input on matters concerning participation and satisfaction of members of our Society, in accordance with the Society's Aims for 2008 and 2009. In addition to gathering important information concerning your personal barbershop experience, the topics covered include Membership, Events, Student Activities, Chorus Directing, Music & Performance, Leadership Support/Training, Quartet participation and Marketing & PR. To date, nearly 15,000 survey results and very helpful comments have been received and shared with your Society leadership at all levels: Board, Committee Chairs, District Presidents and Society staff. In addition, the survey results have been passed to the Membership Growth Task Force. You can be assured that your participation in these surveys helps leadership enhance your barbershop experience at all levels. When the survey cycle is complete this fall, a comprehensive report of its findings will be published in the Harmonizer. DURING THE WEEK of October 5, all Society members with valid email addresses in eBiz will be sent the final survey of this particular initiative. Even if you or your chapter members have completed a survey before, it is most important for members to respond to this final survey in the cycle for us to have a valid base to analyze overall trends and determine where we have improved or are still missing the mark. In addition, your thoughtful comments--nearly 5000 to date--will give us even more detailed information (anonymous, if you choose) to help identify areas of concern or improvement. Please expect and respond as soon as possible to a survey invitation from
