Barbershop Harmony Society Receives $2.5 Million!

By the end of this year, Harmony Foundation will have given over $2.5 Million to the Barbershop Harmony Society since 2004. These funds have covered the Society's youth program in its entirety and funded several hundred full scholarships to Harmony University. In addition, $790,000 is given directly to Chapters and Districts through the Foundation's Donor's Choice program. This positive impact on the Society has been a direct result of farsighted and generous donors who are demonstrating what can be done when we invest in our Societies future through charitable giving to Harmony Foundation.

American Harmony DVD Survey

The producers of American Harmony are currently in the process of planning the DVD release, but they need to get an idea of how many DVDs to press in the first production run, as well as do capacity planning going forward.

There is a short survey (2 questions), which will give them some numbers to work with (and extrapolate from). Even if you aren't planning on buying one, they need that data as well.

The survey will be open until 2,000 responses are collected or until March 1, whichever comes first. It would be most helpful to reach 2,000 responses asap, so as to get rolling on all the back end things that need to take place before releasing the DVD.

While the pricing hasn't been finalized, we expect it will be consistent with historical DVD pricing, at approximately $25.

If you wouldn't mind taking 30 seconds to complete the American Harmony survey, we would really appreciate it.

Also, you can search "American Harmony" on Facebook and become a fan of that page! This will be especially helpful when looking for details about the DVD and release date.

Give the Gift of Barbershop
to an Entire School!

Once again, through the generous donations of the Harmony Foundation, the Society will be offering full-tuition scholarships to music educators to Harmony University 2010 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

If you know of a music educator in your area who is ready for "total barbershop immersion" taught by the very best in barbershop faculty, contact your District Youth In Harmony Vice-President/Director to nominate them! All nominations must be submitted in writing by May 1, 2010.

In addition to tuition, the scholarship covers room & board. More information can be found on the Harmony University page.

By the way... for those who do not take advantage of any scholarships offered, registration prices increase $50 on March 16th - ACT FAST!
