Bill Biffle small

We need a big final push to make Bill Biffle's barbershop "Aha! Moment" a winner in Mutual of Omaha's 2011 national TV commercial campaign! See Bill's entry and vote by clicking HERE. Each person can only vote once from each computer they own.  So please send this link out to all your friends, family and co-workers and ask them to vote - and to forward the link to others!

Talk it up at meetings and rehearsals - ask everyone to send it out to their networks.  Thanks!  Go, Bill!  Go, Barbershop!

Kansas City top after PreReg

There are lots of great reasons to come to Kansas City next July!
  • For one, this competition just might be the hottest ever, with the Vocal Majority going up against the Masters of Harmony!  That will really be something to see!
  • Contests and shows at the all-new Sprint Center-Arena
  • Most hotels within easy walking distance of the contest venue
  • All-new $5 billion Power and Light District located next to the arena - half-a-million square feet and over 50 unique restaurants & shops

2011 Midwinter Convention:
So Much To See and Do!

Vegas Reg Top
Why should you come to Vegas in January?  Let's count the reasons:

     1. Storm Front!               2. Old School!     3.  Ringmasters!
     4.  Musical Island Boys!                              5. The Allies!
     6.  Swedish Match!                                       7.  Resisting-A-Rest!

That's really 28 reasons...all performing in concert with wild abandon,
without the pressures of competition.

Add to that:  8. The Seniors Quartet Contest and 9. The 4th Annual International Youth Chorus Festival,
and you know you're going to have a great time!  Oh, and 10. Come support the seniors and the next generation of barbershoppers. And of course, 11. Should we mention that there's always the appeal of Las Vegas itself?

Need more reasons?

  • Newly renovated Riviera Hotel & Casino
  • Everything is under one roof - no need to ever leave the building
  • NO smoke-filled casino to deal with, unless you choose
  • All hotel rooms are smoke-free
  • Rooms $99 per night, all week (no extra-person charges)

75th Anniversary Coming Soon!

Create a Winning Logo to Win Two VIP

Registrations for the 2013 Convention

To commemorate the coming celebration in 2013, the Society's 75th Anniversary Committee has promised that the creator of the best logo will receive two VIP registrations for the 2013 international convention in Toronto. Chairman Roger Lewis says that he and the rest of the committee (Rob Arnold, Grady Kerr, John Miller, John Schneider, Dusty Schleier) have many other great plans in store and need a logo to visually capture the spirit of the Society and this milestone.  Choral Festival

In August 2010, eighteen members of The Westchester Chordsmen (NY) travelled to Beijing, China along with a few Sweet Adelines and others to participate in the Fourth International Chinese Choral Festival. This is their second appearance at this event, having previously participated in 1995. The 2010 chorus, named "The United Stars of America", was co-directed by Al Fennell and Maestro Yao xue yan ("Uncle Yao"), who brought in members of his Flushing, NY ensemble. The Chinese seemed to especially appreciate the American's ability and willingness to perform in Chinese as well as English.

Of course the chorus sang polecats and other repertoire through the trip...in the plane, in hotel lobbies, on the Great Wall, in Tiananmen Square, in the Hall of Supreme Harmony (how's that for coincidence?) in the Forbidden City, at most restaurants, and on the bus.

Tom Pease, Chapter President, says "Everywhere we went we found a spontaneous stage for singing. We did not disappoint the crowds that gathered to hear us. It was the experience of a lifetime!"  Read MORE.
