Top Ten Quartets

Going into the Finals!

   

Thursday's hot quartet competition came to a close with the following 10 quartets still in the race, in order of appearance for the finals Saturday night:

 

Masterpiece, Forefront, Voce, A Mighty Wind, Main Street, The Allies, Old School, Men in Black, TNS, Musical Island Boys. Mic Testers: Lunch Break

 

The remaining nine semi-finalists are Da Capo, The Crush, Ignition, The PURSUIT, 'Round Midnight, Skyline,

3 Men and a Melody, The Franchise, After Hours.

Harmony Foundation International Collegiate Quartet Contest Winners!

  

The 2011 Kansas City International got off to a fantastic start Tuesday evening with the crowning of the new Collegiate Champs, Prestige (JAD) from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green OH!  Gordie Howe (T), Drew Ochoa (L), Nick Gordon (Br) and Dave Parrett (Bs) pleased both the audience and the judges with "Swanee" and "Deed I Do" to earn a score of 81.4.

 

Other medalists include:   

 

Silver - The Vigilantes (DIX)

3rd Place Bronze - After Hours (ILL)

4th Place Bronze - Expedition (LOL)

5th Place Bronze - HHHHHHHHHHHHHH (EVG)

4th Episode of "America Sings" 

 

VOTE Wednesday July 13!

 

The Alexandria Harmonizers, Men in Black, and S.E.P. Quartet will be seen on the fourth episode of America Sings, a contest similar to American Idol, on the Gospel Music Channel next Wednesday, July 13, at 9 p.m. (10 p.m. ET). This show, hosted by Drew Lachey, runs over 8 weeks, with many other barbershop groups participating on future episodes, so stay tuned!

 

Check your local listings for the Gospel Music Channel. (On DirectTV it's Channel 338 and on Verizon FiOS it's Channel 224). Even if you don't get GMC on cable, you can voteONLINE
