Melanie Chapman
Member Services-Manager of Marketing & Public RelationsMelanie Chapman joined the Society staff in May of 2010 as Manager of Marketing and Public Relations. Her mission is to create and implement programs that will promote the excitement and energy of the Society and its events to create greater public awareness. She became involved with the Society while working in marketing with a relocation firm in Nashville, and assisted and became acquainted with many staff members during the move from Kenosha. She brings plenty of experience in marketing to her task, having worked in the hotel, banking, and real estate industries to make a living – but like many barbershoppers, her real reason for living is music!
Melanie has some musical history with barbershop as well, having performed the role of Marian Paroo in the Music Man in a community theatre several years ago. She fell in love with barbershop while singing “Lida Rose/Dream of Now” with the quartet. She studied voice at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and completed her bachelor’s degree at Indiana University. Melanie has performed in many other musicals and operas, written and recorded radio jingles and voice-overs, and performed with a group for 18 years doing gigs in Indiana (her home state), Ohio and Kentucky. She plays piano, guitar, hammered dulcimer and autoharp, and also directs a church choir on a bi-vocational basis.
Melanie looks forward to assisting the Society and its members in any way possible, and can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
