Starting a Chapter
By Jack Frobose
Here are some tips to help you start a new chapter in a nearby community:
1. Identify the community.
2. Contact the Chamber of Commerce, community business and political leaders and local media. Meet with them and explain how you want to help start a chapter in their town.
3. Offer to do a free community show to introduce people to our music. Or, do the show as a charity benefit for a worthy cause or organization in the town.
4. Contact the local churches and offer to sing at their Sunday services.
5. Contact the local schools and offer to make presentations to their students (contact Rick Spencer at headquarters for ideas on how to do this effectively).
6. Send free tickets to your annual show to the community leaders, music educators, media and other influential people in town.
7. Ask everyone you talk to for names and phone numbers of potential singers and chorus directors.
