A Director is required who is skilled at teaching music, singing, and presentation, and who is able to direct a chorus in Barbershop-type and other genres of songs. Although the candidate should exhibit high standards in terms of the quality of the chorus' and quartet's singing, he/she must be sensitive to the feelings of the members, including those who are neophytes or who are not highly skilled. Although we need a skilled and demanding Director, ours is a small chapter that does not have a large budget, but compensation is negotiable. The Director will have to be available to attend meetings/ practices from 7:30 to 10 PM every Tuesday night and to Direct at various singouts, usually on weekends, but sometimes on other weekday evenings.

We are a varied group of fun loving guys that come from several ages, backgrounds and experiences, who love to sing. We have in common, the love of four part barbershop harmony. While we are a light hearted group, we are serious about our singing. Our current director is leaving us to pursue his life in another state, which of course, is why we need a director. We have the following of many venues for performances throughout the year, which increases substantially during the holiday season, in parks in and around the mid-Long Island area. We are located less that an hour ride to New York City by rail or auto. We meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:30PM, in a former school that is no longer used for that purpose. The auditorium, with a full and working stage, is available for our rehearsals and shows.

We are in search of an enthusiastic director who likes to bring younger members to a higher level of competency, and provide the more experienced ones with the subtle finer points. He or She should also be experienced in barbershop music. We also like to have our director participate in our board meetings in order to provide his expertise and valued knowledge, when he feels it would be useful. We have a continuing active program to obtain new members, in order to grow our numbers over the 25 we currently have on roster. We achieved First Place in Platinum AAA, at the Northern Division competition.

The award winning Rochester New York chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) is searching for the right person to lead and grow its all male chorus.

We need a conductor who is trained or experienced in a cappella vocal music, who has the desire to improve the quality of our performances in public and in competition with other BHS choruses. We expect these improvements to be of a measure to attract more members to our fold. We are searching for a musical director who has the skills to improve us both technically and artistically, and who can effectively communicate those skills to an amateur ensemble. Understanding the "barbershop" style of harmony and the knowledge of the emotional impact our songs can bring to our audiences is a primary objective.

We have in place a functioning Music team, including directing assistants, section leaders and past and present adjudicators ( BHS Judges) to assist in the administrative and artistic development of the chorus. The full support of the Chapter Board of Directors is pledged. Reasonable commitment to permanence in the community is required.

We are a small chapter located in Northwest Arkansas looking to grow.

Northwest Arkansas is a two-county area which includes Fayetteville, Springdale, Siloam Springs, Rogers Bella Vista and Bentonville...a population of about 300,000. A low cost of living and an increasing job growth rate makes it an attractive place to relocate.

With a thriving cultural community consisting of museums, performing arts centers, historical sites, state parks, sports teams and more, Northwest Arkansas is a popular vacation destination. Highways and the newly expanded Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) provide for easy travel to and from the region. Last Updated ( Tuesday, 22 March 2011 14:00 )
