Welcome to the Heritage Hall Museum

The Heritage Hall Museum of Barbershop Harmony is the research resource and collections repository of our musical and organizational history.

Mission

The Museum collects, preserves, and displays the heritage of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America and the art form it espouses (the four-part male close-harmony singing style known as barbershop harmony) to enhance the appreciation and understanding of their past, present, and future.

History

The Museum was opened in April of 1988 as part of the Society's 50th Anniversary celebrations. Since then, we've expanded in scope and function. We've opened a small video theater, added an exhibit hall for changing exhibits, increased access to exhibits and information, and established a funding program. The Museum is becoming an integrated resource, offering archives and collections, exhibits, and research services to Barbershoppers and the general public.

Info-service

The Museum is built on information. We are working to make our resources accessible through direct and easy communication. General information, items of special interest, and periodic updates on the Museum's activities and status are shared through The Harmonizer and our annual report. Our research service provides access to the collection and archives on a wide range of topics to both Barbershoppers and the general public.
