ExhibitsUpdated: 3/29/2004 5:42:00 PM The permanent exhibits are currently in storage, while the Society contemplates its facilities futures. Long-Term ExhibitsLong-term exhibits (6) serve as a basic orientation to barbershop and discuss themes and topics integral to barbershopping, such as: origin and development of the style; aspects of performance; and contest and conventions. Elements of these exhibits are changed periodically to incorporate new information, artifacts, or subjects of interest. Temporary ExhibitsTemporary exhibits (4) focus on various themes and topics such as: champion quartets; costume trends; early conventions; barbershop in the movies; pre-Society quartets; etc. These exhibits change about every two years on a staggered basis. Small ExhibitsThe Museum also maintains several small exhibits in other areas of Harmony Hall: a small table-top case in the Founder's Room (living room); and a glass-fronted bookcase in the Conference Room (billiard room). Travelling ExhibitsA portable exhibit unit, often featuring a version of a current Museum exhibit, travels to the international and midwinter conventions, and to Harmony College. This exhibit changes every year. |
