MEDIA LISTS AVAILABLE
Help get the word out about barbershop harmony: A tool for your marketing and public relations efforts
To help chapters increase public awareness of their activities, the Society now has the capability to provide media lists – for specific purposes – to chapter and district officers. Due to limited staff available for support and because of the time involved in research and preparation, we obviously cannot provide broad lists for groups to “keep on file.” It is reasonable to expect that chapters would already have media contact lists for their immediate area. However, any legitimate chapter or district function for which media contact is needed can be supported.
Lists are available for newspapers, radio and television stations. Our database DOES NOT allow searches based on a certain distance radius around a city (e.g. 250-mile radius around Kenosha). Requests must be for a specific state, county or city and by media outlet type.
Lists will contain the media outlet name and mailing address, plus, as available, general phone and fax numbers, general e-mail address and web address. (Note: The web address, where available, should allow you to access a contact list at the media outlet.)
Again, because of required preparation time, the following guidelines must be strictly adhered to when requesting a media list.
All requests must be submitted by e-mail and will be returned the same way in Excel spreadsheet format.
Submit your request a minimum of six weeks prior to the first date you expect to use the information, not the date of the event.

Requests will be completed in the order in which they are received. There should be no “rush” requests for media lists.
