Boyz II Men A Cappella Quest

Calling All Barbershop Quartets! Legendary R&B singing group Boyz II Men is looking for its favorite a cappella group in a contest launched in partnership with CBS’s “The Early Show” and Motown Records. The fast-approaching deadline for video submissions is Monday November 19 at 11:59 pm ET.
This high profile contest is a great opportunity for The Barbershop Harmony Society to increase awareness on a national level with a major network morning show.
All quartets submitting video performances must pay close attention to the contest rules specifically as relates to copyrighted material. All video submissions must be legal.

“The Early Show”, in consultation with representatives from the Boyz II Men record label, Motown Records, will narrow down the entries to 5 Finalist Groups who will each perform on “The Early Show” from their Hometowns between the dates of December 3 and 14. The members of Boyz II Men will then pick their favorite a cappella group.
The winning group will be announced on “The Early Show” on December 17 and subsequently flown to New York to perform live on “The Early Show” between December 17 and December 24.
Boyz II Men, the highest selling R&B group of all time, got their start in 1991 imitating smooth harmonies they listened to growing up in Philadelphia but with a modern spin. Their trademark sound is referred to as “hip-hop doo wop”. With this contest and a nod to their own history, Boyz II Men is looking to encourage a new generation of street corner serenaders.
