BARBERSHOP HARMONY SOCIETY ELECTS CONNIE KEIL TO BOARD
Nashville, TN. The world’s largest all-male singing society elected Conrad “Connie” Keil of Tucson, Arizona, to its board of directors as a Member-at-Large for a three-year term beginning in 2008. Keil will help guide policy and strategic planning for the Barbershop Harmony Society, a non-profit organization of 30,000 male close-harmony singers in the United States and Canada.
Keil is a consultant and independent third-party mediator/advisor for companies involved in mergers and divestitures, having previously served as an appointed Trustee by the Federal Trade Commission. His other consulting projects have included training, team-building and process improvement project management for major corporations.. . He was formerly Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Berwind Pharmaceuticals, responsible for manufacturing, procurement and distribution worldwide, which included building manufacturing facilities in Shanghai and Tokyo.
Joining the Society in 1957, Keil’s fifty years of service have seen him holding many chapter offices. He has served as a quartet coach at Harmony College as well as in coaching dozens of quartets and choruses across the Society. Keil has directed four choruses, including a second place International Medalist chorus. He is a chorus director trainer an international contest judge, a Youth In Harmony clinician, and an author of barbershop articles. Having sung in 15 organized quartets he is currently a member of the Sonoran Sound and Cahoots quartets.

Keil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and has done post graduate studies in Operations Research. He has completed executive studies in management, strategic planning and marketing at Stanford, the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia Darden Business School.
