The Vocal Majority Selected to Perform at ACDA National Convention

First Barbershop Group Since 1988

Updated: 6/27/2008 3:42:30 PM

The Vocal Majority has been accepted to perform in two concert spots on March 6, 2009 during the National Convention for the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) in Oklahoma City. Their first performance is at 2:00 PM and the second at 6:00 PM.

This will be the 50th anniversary of ACDA, and choirs from all over the world are invited to perform at this convention. The groups are always top notch, often coming from colleges/universities or professional choirs. Past performers include such high-profile harmonizers as Chanticleer, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and King’s Singers.

This is a tremendous opportunity for The Vocal Majority and the Society. The last time ANY barbershop ensemble was featured at an ACDA national convention was in 1988 in San Antonio. A well-deserved congratulations to all of the VM’s members – keep on singin’!
