Nashville Registration Process

How to order your convention registrations online.

Two Ways to Register:

1. Online: Click HERE

2. By Phone: 615-255-9600 to speak with a TicketMaster Agent

Registrations for our 2008 International Convention in Nashville are being handled by TicketMaster.

The Sommet Center (venue for the contest sessions) has an exclusive contract with TicketMaster. Their “add on” fees are $4.75 per ticket (this is the same fee that was charged by our Etix system); $2 facility fee (which is charged by the Sommet Center, not TicketMaster and would have to be paid whichever ticketing method we used for Nashville); $3.80 transaction fee (not per ticket but per transaction) to cover shipping and handling; and a 3% credit card fee.

The good news is that TicketMaster is well equipped to service its customers. This should eliminate the long lines in the Convention Registration area next year for people who didn’t get their tickets in the mail or who ordered at the very last minute. Unfortunately, TicketMaster will NOT accept a check payment for registrations/tickets. If you do not have a credit card, you will need to get someone to buy the registrations/tickets for you and reimburse them with a check.

We recognize that the cost of attending conventions seems to be on the rise but I can assure you that the very small increase in the cost of buying a registration will be more than offset by lower hotel prices and additionally by the value you receive in attending the convention in Nashville.

VIP Status & President’s Council Members

Who are VIPs you ask? Well, although everyone is a VIP to us, only a few are recognized as VIPs by rule- Society President; Society Board members; District Presidents; Past International Presidents (or surviving spouse;) Current International Quartet Champion; Current Champion Chorus Director; Society Committee Chairmen; Sweet Adeline International President and Board members; Harmony Incorporated President and Board members; Barbershop Harmony Staff; Harmony Foundation Board members; Harmony Foundation Staff; International Contest Judging Panel; Affiliate organization Presidents; Hall of Fame members; and other organizational leaders (MENC, ACDA, local leaders in the convention city, etc.). VIP status must be attained/retained in the year of the convention, not necessarily in the year during which you purchase your registration.

AGAIN, PRESIDENTS COUNCIL MEMBERS AND VIPs SHOULD NOT PURCHASE THEIR REGISTRATIONS DIRECTLY FROM TICKETMASTER, BUT RATHER THROUGH THE SOCIETY OFFICES.

If you are an AIC member, a Presidents Council member or a VIP (in the year 2008), you should NOT buy your registration through TicketMaster. We have set aside seating sections for the groups mentioned above and you all should complete & return the VIP form HERE.
