ASCAP Reporting Form for 2021
The Barbershop Harmony Society has a blanket agreement with ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) to pay significantly reduced licensing fees for all U.S. chapters and ensuring their legal compliance for live, in-person public performances of the songs represented by ASCAP.
As a friendly reminder, All U.S. Chapters and Districts must complete an annual ASCAP Reporting Form and submit it (with corresponding payment, if applicable) by the end of each calendar year. The 2021 ASCAP Reporting Form is now available at our website for download.
If your chapter is not producing any shows (free, benefit or ticketed) with live, in-person public performances during the year 2021, a form is still required by completing Section A. Districts, if you hosted or produced a show as a part of your convention, or perhaps had a show as a part of a youth event, you are liable for an ASCAP report and applicable fee. Otherwise, please complete Section A.
U.S. Chapters should mail their ASCAP reporting forms and applicable payments directly to the Barbershop Harmony Society:
Barbershop Harmony Society
ATTN: Copyright/Licensing Department
110 7th Avenue North
Nashville, TN 37203-3704
or by email* to email@example.com.
*Please use email only if no payment is due. Payment and Form should be mailed together to the address above.
If you have not yet submitted your 2020 ASCAP Reporting Form and applicable payment, please do so as soon as possible.
Please note that if you are a Canadian Chapter or District, you are not required to submit an ASCAP annual report; however, SOCAN reporting requirements must be satisfied by your group.
PLEASE NOTE: BMI/SESAC Show Clearance Forms/Payments for U.S. Chapters are to be sent to districts (or their assignee) for processing for each show produced by your group.
Should you or your chapter have further questions or need additional information, please contact the BHS Manager of Copyright & Licensing at firstname.lastname@example.org.
