Safety Protocols for 2023 International Convention
The Barbershop Harmony Society is committed to the health and safety of our convention attendees. Along with continually seeking guidance from a team of experts and medical professionals, we are monitoring regional health data trends as well as the ongoing evolution of event safety protocols.
Although COVID-19 Community Levels are low in many areas of the United States as of June 7, most in-person barbershop events in the past few years have reported higher instances of illness as a result of singing in close proximity to others. The best way to protect yourself and others is to get vaccinated and stay up to date on all recommended vaccines.
For the BHS Louisville International Convention:
A negative COVID-19 test is NOT required to attend.
If you become sick or experience any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 within five days prior to arrival, you should not attend.
If you, or someone you have been in close contact with, is exposed to COVID-19 or exhibits signs or symptoms of the same, isolate yourself and get tested.
Vaccination is highly recommended, but proof of the same is not required.
Masks may be worn by choice, but are not mandatory.
Practice good hygiene.
Take any additional personal precautions you feel necessary to protect your health.
