Safety Protocols for 2023 Midwinter Convention

Safety Protocols for 2023 Midwinter Convention

The Barbershop Harmony Society is committed to offering a safe, accessible event.

The Barbershop Harmony Society is committed to the health and safety of our convention attendees. Along with continually seeking guidance from a team of experts and medical professionals, we are closely monitoring COVID-19 data and following the ongoing evolution of event safety protocols.

Although COVID-19 Community Levels are low in many areas of the United States as of January 4, nearly every in-person barbershop event over the past two years has reported additional COVID infections as a result of singing in close proximity to others. Current variants seem to be less severe than earlier forms of the virus, but people are still getting sick - some more so than others. The best way to protect yourself and others is to get vaccinated and stay up to date on all recommended boosters.

If you are exposed to COVID-19 within ten days prior to arrival, you should follow CDC isolation guidelines and not attend the event. If you are sick, please stay at home. If you become sick during the convention, please isolate and contact the BHS Events Team.

Anyone may choose to wear a mask at any time. While not required, masks are recommended for those at higher risk. The CDC also recommends masking in travel and public transportation settings.

All events (including afterglows and informal gatherings) are strictly limited to registered attendees.

*We reserve the right to adjust health & safety protocols as needed based on the current status of health protocols and recommendations.
