Music Educator, Director, and Arranger Theo Hicks

About Theo Hicks

Theo Hicks is an active composer and arranger, and has written music for groups all over the country. He is a member of the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME) as well as the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS). He graduated Cum Laude from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with School of Music Honors. He was awarded several other honors, including the Music Education Award, Faculty Award for Excellence in Music, and is a member of the Music Honors Society, Pi Kappa Lambda. Throughout his years at Anderson University, he was also very active in the Boze Lyric Theatre, performing several supporting and lead roles in their productions. He studied voice, piano, acting, and composition throughout his four years at Anderson University.

Theo is now a licensed Vocal & Instrumental Music Teacher in Indiana and is the Choir Director for Madison-Grant Jr./Sr. High School. He is also the Director for the Premier Men’s Chorus in Indianapolis called Circle City Sound. He has provided private voice instruction for several years as well.

Theo has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for over 10 years, and has gained quite a bit of experience on the contest stage, including district and international conventions. He has coached several quartets and choruses to date, led several music workshops, and served as a guest clinician for music programs and ensembles throughout the world.

His current quartet accomplishments include singing lead in Instant Classic, the 2015 International Quartet Champions.
