What is a BHS Chapter?

From its first meeting in Tulsa on April 11, 1938, the Barbershop Harmony Society has always been about the local experience for our members. Chapters allow for members to have a local barbershop experience while determining what barbershopping is to their local community of singers.

BHS chapters are located throughout the U.S. and Canada and are legally incorporated, subsidiary organizations of the Barbershop Harmony Society, from which it derives its status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

Getting Started

For New Chapters or Groups

Whether you would like to charter a new BHS chapter or learn how your singing community can receive choral services and support from the Barbershop Harmony Society, simply fill out the inquiry form below and a BHS representative will contact you directly to learn more about you and discuss the options for your group.

If a chapter is the best engagement option for your group, a BHS staff member will discuss the charter requirements, and continue to guide the prospective chapter until the chapter is fully established.

We look forward to getting to know you!
