Conventions are family reunions

I’m having a busy Fall. I’ve already hit two conventions (thanks, Illinois and Mid-Atlantic Districts!), with visits still ahead to Ontario and Southeastern Harmony Districts. Mondays are looking rough for a while.
Everywhere I go throughout barbershopping, I am struck by the power of our shared experience. For many of us, the Barbershop Harmony Society has become a “family of choice” that connects generations, crosses borders, and unites people through song.
That deep sense of belonging isn’t just about what we receive from BHS, from our district, from our chapter — it’s also about what we give to one another in each rehearsal, each encouraging word, each quiet stairwell tag.
Whether you sing in a quartet, chorus, or show up only to enjoy the camaraderie of conventions and chapter nights, your presence adds something unique to the chord we all create together.
Thank you for being part of this extraordinary community. Your voice, your time, and your passion make us who we are — a Society not just of singers, but of people who who believe that harmony, both musical and human, can make the world a better place
In harmony,
Robert
