New Roles, New Team Members

Meet the New Faces (and New Focus) Behind Your Barbershop Harmony Content

Big things are happening on the communications side of Harmony Hall, and we wanted to bring you along for the ride.

New Roles, New Team Members

Michele Lee Niec leads the team as our Director of Marketing & Communication, guiding the strategy behind everything you see, hear, and read from Harmony Hall.

You may have already heard that Eddie Holt has stepped into a new role as Harmonizer Editor, taking on the title of chief storyteller as our Manager of Editorial & Content Strategy. Eddie will be shaping the voice and vision behind the stories we tell across the Society.

We're also excited to welcome James Crowe to the team as our new Marketing & Content Designer. James joins Jeremy Gover, who remains our Video Content Strategist, bringing barbershop harmony to life on screen.

Why the Change?

This new structure isn't just about titles — it's about how we work. By aligning each team member's strengths and dividing responsibilities more intentionally, we can collaborate more effectively across communications, marketing, editorial, and creative work.

The goal is simple: tell more purposeful stories that inspire, inform, and connect our members.

But great content is only part of the picture. Our team also plays a key role in growing awareness, strengthening engagement, and supporting the Society's Mission and Vision. That means pairing strong storytelling with smart marketing; tracking what's working, measuring impact, and always looking for new ways to reach and engage everyone who loves barbershop harmony.

Introducing "Around the Society"

Since Michele returned to Harmony Hall in January, one goal has stood out: getting more intentional about spotlighting news from across our chapters and districts.

To make that happen, we're launching a new section in the weekly LiveWire tentatively called "Around the Society." This section will highlight stories published on your website, in your e-newsletter, or on social media. We spend time every week scrubbing your newsletters and social media, but we can't do it without you. You can help us know what we don't know, and here's how ...

Want your news featured? Submit it here by Wednesday at noon to be considered for that week's issue. We will do everything we can to accommodate all reasonable requests. Please note, chapter show announcements and performances should continue to be added to the calendar. We will link to that the last week of each month, so get your events posted.

This submission form isn't limited to LiveWire — it's the start of a broader process change we hope will catch on across the Society. We know it will take time to become second nature, but we believe the long-term payoff in better, more connected storytelling is worth it.

And if forms aren't your thing, we get that. You can always still reach us at marketing@barbershop.org.

We're excited about this new chapter and can't wait to tell more of your stories.
