2019 International Convention Releases
As you’re soaking up the last bit of summer, be sure to check out all the great music we released this year at our 2019 International convention in Salt Lake City!
Arr. Kohl Kitzmiller
This arrangement of the Bobby Darin smash hit is based on the version recorded by Manhattan Transfer, featuring James Taylor. Smooth, easy to learn, and always a crowd-favorite, this chart is a must-have for any chorus or quartet repertoire!
Hymn to Freedom
Arr. Jim Clancy
This arrangement was premiered by 2018 BHS International Chorus champion Vocal Majority to conclude their swan song set at the 2019 Barbershop Harmony Society International Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. Clancy’s arrangement of this Oscar Peterson composition is simple, elegant, and powerful. Harriette Hamilton’s lyric beautifully captures and communicates the spirit of inclusion and harmony of Peterson’s composition, which has become a core characteristic of the BHS “Everyone in Harmony” initiative.
You're A Heavenly Thing
Arr. Dan Wessler
This swingin' gem from 2018 champs After Hours highlights each voice part and features a nice texture of duet and trio singing with some walking bass thrown in. A great uptune for any chorus or quartet repertoire!
I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow
Arr. Aaron Dale
From the BHS songbook Nashville Barbershop Style, this Aaron Dale arrangement is available individually for the first time. True to the original Old Crow Medicine Show classic as featured in the 2000 film O Brother, Where Art Thou?, this chart is sure to get your audience singing along.
South Rampart Street Parade
Arr. David Wright
Published to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Joker's Wild quartet's championship performance of this David Wright classic arrangement, this fun uptune has become a barbershop classic.
