Swedish quartet crowned barbershop champion
There is nothing ordinary about Lemon Squeezy, a quartet from Sweden that won a thrilling victory in the 2025 International Quartet Contest presented by the Barbershop Harmony Society.
First, their origin and journey to the top: formed in 2010, and winning the college championship in 2012, the quartet has undergone multiple changes in singers and voice parts. Their win this year makes them only the third quartet from outside North America to win the championship, preceded by Musical Island Boys (2014, from New Zealand,) and Ringmasters (2012, from Sweden.)
Ringmasters were a key part of Squeezy’s 2025 win: both inspiration, and subject matter of a truly memorable set built on “Popular” (from the musical Wicked) and “All-American Prophet,” (from the musical Book of Mormon.)
