You can't keep a great quartet on the sidelines, it seems. A scant 25 years after winning the gold, 1992 International Quartet Champion Keepsake is hitting the road once again. And since champs deliver, they're doing it in the service of music education.
The Barbershop Music Festival at Brigham Young University-Idaho is a long-established event (how long? see cover story of May 2009 Harmonizer!) that annually draws hundreds young singers for a weekend of singing. The success of the festival has many downline effects, including inspiring lifelong singers, directors and Barbershoppers. A few past students have become educators who in turn have brought their choruses to subsequent festivals, and have attended Harmony University as educators to deepen their knowledge. The Rexburg, Idaho Chapter, will continue their longtime involvement with the event with a performance on the show.
(And yes, we have every reason to believe that all four originals will be there... although the Awesome Tim Waurick guest shot at Midwinter was pretty great, too.)
