Ready, Set, Sing unlocks the singer within
Men like to sing, but mainly in private-- in the car, or in the shower. Sandy Hausman at NPR affiliate WVTF found singers visiting a barbershop chorus meeting were able to match pitch and have fun making music.
The Jeffersonland Chorus in Charlottesville, Virginia gathered 34 singers for its first Learn to Sing effort in 2017, and another 17 at the event featured in this this radio story broadcast across the commonwealth. Reassuring instruction from director Alexa Beal and Dan Signor demonstrate singing fundamentals in an appealing and safe way.
